Leona has over 20 years' experience in the construction industry gained through working for a number of tier one contractors and progressing to her current role of Pre-Construction Commercial Manager at Wordsworth Construction Management.
In 2005, Leona began an educational journey starting with a National Award in Construction, followed by a Foundation Degree and ultimately a BSc(Hons) in Construction Project Management at the University of Huddersfield. She achieved a first class degree and was awarded the Construction Cup for her efforts and attainment - the first female recipient of this prestigious accolade.
Leona has been involved in several high profile projects including Trinity Leeds, The Hepworth Gallery and Wakefield and St James Hospital P21 refurbishment. She has a passion for heritage works and was closely involved in several projects of an archaeologically important nature, including Pontefract Castle and the refurbishment of Wakefield Crown Court.
Leona leads the commercial and procurement aspects of projects through her knowledge of pre and post contract commercial management and through her extensive procurement and supply chain relationships.
